According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rainn Wilson, will now be known as 'Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson'. The name change comes just as climate experts, as well as world leaders, are meeting for the COP27 summit in Egypt.

Wilson says that the name change is an effort to bring awareness to the rapidly melting arctic, as well as climate change in general.

Now you may think that this is just a demonstrative, meaningless act promoting himself more than anything, but you'd be dead wrong. Wilson is actually an advisory board member of an organization called Arctic Basecamp. They are bringing awareness to the fact that the arctic is melting and just how much of an effect that has on the entire world.

The jury is still out on what effect Rain's name change will have on the climate.
